2004 Mercury 115 elpto 2 stroke

I just re-powered my boat with the 2004 merc 115, I previously had a 98' Merc 115. On the new motor above the spark plugs there is a t fitting sticking out, when I flush motor it shoots water out of it. But there is no hose connecting to it and on the 98 motor this port is closed with a plug, can anyone fill me in on what this is

I suppose you can plug that up.-----Or run tubing from it to a water pressure gauge.--The other end to an overboard indicator.

So it wont hurt to plug it up, whats the other end of an overboard indicator

I have the same engine. PO removed the plug and installed the elbow probably for a WP gauge. You can do as racerone said or cap the nipple w/a vacuum cap and zip tie or remove it and install a plug as it was mfgd.
