Hey All-
TLDR: Is Suzuki part 15100-94900 interchangeable with Johnson Part 5035394 ? On my 2004 Johnson 225?
I have a 2004 Johnson 225 (J225PX4SR). I don't know a lot about this motor, but I belive many of the parts are interchangeable with Suzuki. Recently the motor died coming off plane and idling into the courtesy dock at my local ramp. Learned that hitting the primer bulb a few times would get it running for a while again. I replaced the primer bulb and water separator. Haven't water-tested it yet, but it ran for a bit on the muffs. Don't like to run it too long on muffs.
I took the cowling off and visually inspected the fuel lines and listened for the low pressure fuel pump to kick on when I turn the ignition to "on." I definitely could hear it. Runs for a few seconds and turns off. It possible it sounded a little wonky .. but who knows. I wasn't really paying attention to what it sounded like before I thought there could be a problem... so maybe it sounds like it always did.
Still .. seems like a cheap enough part to have an on-hand spare in case it does go bad. I looked up part #5035394 at CrowlyMarine.com for the Johnson. Is there a similar part number for an interchangeable Suzuki version of this pump? I was surprised at what seemed like relatively few of these on ebay. Made me think maybe there's a more popular Suzuki version of this part I would be better off searching for.
Thanks!
Chris
