Hey Guys,

I noticed a puddle of water under my outboard today and can't figure out where it's coming from. It's about a cup of oily water with what looks like either heavily used oil or exhaust residue. The amount of oil in the water is minimal. The boat is kept in an unheated shed and the temps. inside the shed did get down into the teens.

I can't see any cracks anywhere.
I don't really want to start tearing it apart until I have some idea of where the problem might be. Any ideas?
Thanks

This could very well be normal.----Some of the oil that is mixed with the fuel goes right through the motor and into the exhaust.----It then leaks down over time and this is what you and many other have observed.----Scary looking but quite normal.----Did you fog the motor or put oil in the cylinders when winterizing ?

Thanks for the replies - normal sounds good! I'm waiting for the weather to warm up then I'll check the oil and put the boat in the water and see what happens.
