New to forum but not outboard issues...

Engine has been running rough. Thought is was carbs (3 on this 3 cylinder engine). Did a shock treatment with Seafoam. Made no difference.

While engine was running i pulled each spark plug boot separately to see if I was getting spark and to see if the engine responded to this. The top two cylinders were getting spark that I could both see and hear when holding boot close to plug. The bottom cylinder however, I heard nor saw spark and pulling the spark plug boot all the way made no difference to how the engine ran. So, no spark to bottom cylinder.

I'm thinking (and hoping) that it is just a bad coil. My question is: Can I switch the middle and bottom coil leads and then switch the two plug wires to see if then my middle cylinder show no spark? The three coils are all the same. It sure seems logical that I can leave the coils in place and just switch the wire plugs around and then the plug wires to check. Just want to make sure I don't screw anything up further...

Thanks in advance!
