hi all i have a 2004 15hp merc (2 stroke 2 cyl) on a jon boat and the boat does not idle at all if you full tilt it will go, and throttle at all will stay running but no idle. it smokes like hell. it has been sitting un used for lile 3 years 120psi comnpression both cylinders. both plugs are getting fire. i installed new diaphrams and gasket in carb original reeds. new fuel lines, cleaned the filter under cowl, cleaned carb and new plugs. It ran the same as when i first cranked it and it ran like hell. i bought it for 300 bucks. so any knowledge at all would be much appreciated. oh yeah by the way when i went into the carb the the venturi metering valve the bronze rod. were the main jet meets it is not a straight shot the rode is bent i do not know if this is normal either agian thanks all
