2004 15hp Four Stroke Not Running

I had the motor running fine this weekend but now will only start on high idle with the choke open for about 30 seconds then it dies. The ball must be pumped to full capacity before it stars and choke must be open. It must not be pumping fuel (new fuel, new hose and tank w. vent open). Any suggestions?
 
Check for water in the fuel.-----------Are you saying it will only start without using the choke ( choke open )----------When you operate the manual fuel pump does it take about 4 squeezes to fill the carburetor again ?
 
If it keeps running when you operate the manual pump , then check fuel lines.------Also check pick-up tube INSIDE your fuel tank for air leaks.----If fuel lines are good you may need to check fuel pump on the motor.
 
Myself I would take the pump apart and see if maybe some dirt is stuck in a check valve.-----------------A Johnson ( Suzuki built ) motor then parts are available at a Suzuki dealer or BRP dealer.-----Parts are also available on this site , just a few clicks away.----I rarely spendI$$$ until I confirm that what I have is not repairable , that is just a lot of common sense I guess.
 
That pump is operated by a plunger from a rocker arm. Check that membrane not leaking, check that plunger is moving freely.
