Hey all, new to the forum here. Actually made an account because my Dad is too proud to ask for help haha. We have been working on his boat for the past couple months and finally got it running and idling decent. We began by flushing his fuel tanks and replacing all of the fuel lines and fuel filter/water separator and replumbing to his motor and a small 8hp kicker motor. It sounds good when running at idle and revving up, but when we take it out every time we try to accelerate to get on plane the motor bogs down at 25-2600 RPM. We tried about 4-5 times before coming back in, then when we finally pulled in the slip, it began sputtering and shut off.

We have determined that we don't have air in the lines, but have heard the high pressure fuel pump is notorious for going out on these motors. I'm not sure how true that is, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated before we have to put it back on the trailer and take it to a service shop.

Thanks,
Dan
