My 150 Johnson has had problems for a while now, it stated while returning to the dock and up till then it started and ran great. During the return to the dock, it popped thru the exhaust and started to run rough and shake. I have had the fuel system from the fuel and oil injection pumps replaced, the carburetors rebuild , new filter replaced and i installed a fuel/water separator. I was told that the left bank intake gasket was leaking, so I replaced both intake gaskets and because I had the engine apart I also replaced the thermostats. Still did not correct the problem. I put the motor into a repair shop, they replaced the stator, (was heated and the varnish was melted in a couple spots) voltage regulator, power pack, coils, plug wires and spark plugs. With this work done, i took the boat out yesterday. The motor started and idle at about 1200 rpm and after a warm up , the idle dropped to about 900 rpm. It ran great with plenty of power. I stopped for about 1 hour and tried to start the motor. It would start and idle for about 90 seconds at 1200 rpm then the idle would slowly drop until the motor quit. It would restart and do the same thing. The primer bulb was soft, after pumping it up, I could get the motor to run and after numerous tries I got it in gear and moving. Once i got it above 1500 rpm, the motor ran great until i returned to the dock and shifted into neutral then the engine quit. Earlier on I replaced the primer bulb and fuel hose from the fuel/water separator to the fuel pump. I know this is a long write up, but i'm trying to not putting it in the shop again, any help would be helpful.
