"I have twin 2003 BF200's

"I have twin 2003 BF200's that recently when coming off power the port engine will stall. Stalls when idling. Problem just started and occurs more frequently. I had a tech come to my lift and tilted engine to check plugs, said there is oil on the plugs (no water) and couldn't get one plug out. Said I may have a blown head or valve problem?? I bought these new and never had a problem total hours 150, and only 30 hrs since last service. I have had problems during 50hr service with them removing same plug, so I dont think its a head. Also I noticed the throttal seems loose on this engine compared to the starboard engine which by the way runs fine. Any ideas?"

"No, not under warranty, expired 11-06, Any idea what it sounds like? engine has never overheated, so the head problem doesnt make sense, under power it ran fine."

"tech ran a test and no proble

"tech ran a test and no problems, just couldnt check the one where the plug is stuck. also since boat is on a lift he had to tilt up the engine to get to plugs, could this cause oil to seep into plugs? Also what else could cause oil in the plugs? I have taken good care of the boat and engines following specs to a detail so Im surprised at the problem, even considering so soon after annual service. I researched the Honda engines prior to purchase and felt they were very reliable. I rechecked with Honda after your last post and warranty did expire 11-07, not 06. They also show no other warranty issues on motors other than recalls and items corrected/replaced during service. Could it be a gasket or ring problem? Is that common? I did not see any other post referring to it in the bigger engines. BTW Thanks for your help."

"You need to change the last s

"You need to change the last spark plug. If it is the bottom port-side plug, you need to remove the side cowling to get it out. If it is corroded and won't come off, remove the coil from the plug, tilt the engine up, and pour a pentrating oil like Aero-Kroil or PB blaster into the tube around the spark plug. Let it soak then slowly work the plug out.

Rough idle can also be caused by a clogged IAC valve. The IAC valve is located on the very top of the engine on the intake manifold and is held on with 2 10mm bolts. There is a screen inside here that may need to be cleaned out. You may also want want to run some Ring Free in your gas."

what about the oil on the plug

what about the oil on the plugs? Also the throttle on the port engine seems extremely loose.
