Hey guys I got a question, I bought a new hull and put my 03' bf130 on it, after rigging it out, according to my tach I'm only turning 4k at wot trimmed out. it was the same on the old heavy hull I thought the weight was the issue, the new one is a lot lighter 950lbs or so. its a flats skiff made by sundance a spyder fx-19 vapor. my question is it tach or should I get another prop. my tach is a marpac brand, what pole should it be set on like I said its a 4cyl 4 stroke Honda.

4 pole....2 pulse setting.

Be sure that your tach works with outboards. Some brand tachs work with 4 stroke I/O's but not outboards.

thanks Honda dude, I will look at it as soon as it quits raining. I got another question I want to change all my filters on my bf130 and I cant figure out how to get to the high pressure fuel filter. I took the three Phillips head screws out on the front of the pump where it should be housed and the hex bolt but it doesn't want to move, I was scared to put much pressure without asking if I was doing it right. I don't think this filter has ever been changed. my engine runs good for the most part but ever now and when I shut it down it is hard starting, might have to turn engine over 15-20 times before it starts up.

You might have to carefully pry it off. It normally is a pretty tight fit with an o ring and it could be gooed up some, since it has never been changed.

Hondadude thanks, I haven't had time to mess with filter yet I am going to have to order it i guess. But I did look at my tach it's on the #2 position it says 4cyl put on 2 pole position. That's what I have 4cyl and its set on right pole so what do you think I need to do?

it sounds like it might be a tach for an inboard outboard engine. if it is a faria tach and it goes only to 6000 rpm, it probably will not read correctly for an outboard. Faria outboard tachs go to 7000.

The setting on a Faria for the 130 should be 1.
