"Rough Idle & Run-up when advancing throttle until reach half throttle & above, then runs fine. Engine dies if advance throttle too quickly. Acts like only running on 2 cylinders at low end. Was doing same thing prior to rebuild of all 3 carbs (complete kits) and all new plugs. Suggestions?"

Haven't chkd compression..

Haven't chkd compression.....will borrow tester from neighbor when he gets home & check all 3 cylinders. What is range I should read?

"No, carbs not re-sync'd..

"No, carbs not re-sync'd....I did a rebuild on the carbs 2 years ago and engine ran beautifully when completed (no re-sync). Was careful to keep all linkages static and all adjustments same as prior to disass'y. What do I need to do to re-sync?"

"Ok, well your original post m

"Ok, well your original post makes it sound like you just did the carbs. I think you answered your own question. It was acting the same prior to re-doing the carbs...you may have picked up some debris in the carbs and you need to do them again. You did them 2 years ago, it only takes a second for a jet to get plugged up."

"Sorry for the confusion....I

"Sorry for the confusion....I did just rebuild all carbs w/complete kit. Two years ago did a cleaning of all 3 carbs (no new parts)....problem at that time was hung float/pushing fuel out of carb vents....that cleaning was succesful.....has been running fine up to present problem. Just completed compression check....all 3 are same at about 100psi. Also noticed that new plug on top cylinder still shiny....looks like it is not firing at all, however, checked that plug & other 2 for spark at each cyl. & they all check OK. Since top cyl plug did not look like it had burned any fuel, I also disassembled and recleaned the top carb. Unfortunately, the problem is still there....pulled the top plug again & it still shows no sign of fuel burn. Could this be a coil problem even though I get spark for ignition?"

"I would say that you have no

"I would say that you have no fuel (if you have spark) and the low speed circuit is still plugged. try cleaning again. I soak mine for a couple days in a carb cleaning solvent, rinse well then use compressed air to blow out all the small passages. To confirm, try spraying a small amount amount of fuel into the top carb while at idle to see if it breifly catches and the revs pick up. If it does, you know its fuel for sure."

"Problem solved....finally! T

"Problem solved....finally! Thank you all for your help. I tried the direct spray of fuel into top intake....no effect. The only thing I hadn't done through all of this was clean the Primer assy on the middle carb.....after cleaning, the idle problem disappeared. Tested performance on the water yesterday & works great. BTW....the Blues are thick & hungry here in SE Fla. Thanks again."
