2003 25 HP Mercury Remote to Tiller Conversion

Hi,
I am in the process of converting a Remote 2003 25 hp Mercury into a tiller motor. I am interested in buying tiller controls or trading with someone that is looking to convert to remote controls. I would be willing to pay extra cash on my side. If you or someone you know has these parts or you know where I could find them any help would be grealty appreciated. Thanks

Where are you located ?

I'm currently looking at a used 25hp Merc with VERY low hours but it is a tiller and I need a remote. I'm not sure what it will take to convert this motor to a remote.

I'm in the process of restoring an old Boston Whaler with a center console steering.

It takes a LOT of stuff, starting with the arm and cables.

are you still looking at doing this ? i have a 2003 tiller i would like to convert to a consol

I have done this conversion 4 times already, it is a piece of cake. I will trade you parts so it will be No expense for either of us except shipping.........you can call me My Name is Mike Sr. and I live in New Jersry 201-615-1214

I am considering converting my 2003 Merc 25 HP tiller with electric start to a remote setup to put on a pontoon. I bought it new and it has under 10 actual hours on it. I've considered trading it in on a remote motor but I would take such a severe kick in the butt that spending the money on the conversion parts might be a better way to go, especially since I know the background on the motor very well. Can anyone give me a ballpark estimate on the cost of the conversion and the possible value, if any, of my tiller parts ? Thanks for any info provided
 
I just bought a new 20hp merc motor with tiller, have been looking for days for the remote setup but can not afford the prices, if you are still looking lets connect, i can shoot over pics of inside my motor and the tiller (NEW) and if the parts are the same I will swap even up with you. John at [email protected] I live in Tennessee near Nashville and will to take a road trip if not to far. Thanks

That thread is pretty old and unfortunately I opted for selling the Merc and purchasing another.
