2003 225hp honda alarm

engine has 1500 hours, runs fine but an alarm has been coming on beeping at 1 second intervals sometimes no alarm. no lights are coming on and disconnected fuel water seperator alarm because of corrosion and thought problem was fixed motor ran about 20 mnutes then alarm back on also alarm will come on with engine off and by turning key on. mechanic reset codes and thinks might be bad computer looking for any ideas and info

Did the mechanic say what codes were present before he reset them?

What warning lights are on with the alarm sounds?

All of the warning sounds are at 2 second intervals or solid, except for the water in fuel indication, which is much faster.

Also, if all is working ok and the water in fuel indicator sounds, it will sound just by turning the key to on without starting the engine. Also, no lights will come on that should not already be on. With the key switch to on (motor not running), only the charge light will be on. If the motor is running, only the oil pressure light should be on.

I would look at the water separator connector real close to be sure there is no corrosion across the contacts....even though it is disconnected.

There is a lot more troubleshooting to do before you buy a new ecm.
