As the title says, swapping motors and my question is if I have to swap wiring harnesses and controls as well, cables seem fine. On the surface it appears the two primary plugs at the motor end are the same as is the trim motor plug but are they wired exactly the same? The only visual differences I see are the boat with the ETEC has a separate ICOM cable and there is one other connector on the VRO boat, possibly a trim sending unit, still chasing it down. To swap cables on my 17 whaler requires lifting the deck plate which is a huge PITA, too many twists in the routing to pull cables straight through, tried it last year putting in throttle/shift cables and couldn't do it without lifting the deck. Thanks in advance
