I have a problem sometimes whe

I have a problem sometimes where the starter pinion doesnt quite mesh into the ring gear correctly and seems to bounce out and retracts back into the starter motor going into free spin mode until the key is released. Next attempt at start is usually fine. Motor only has 130hrs and ring gear is completely unbleamished. Starter pinion appears to only have minimal wear on the pinion teeth - any ideas ??

Do you mean grease up the pinion gear and ring gear teeth ??
