"I have a Yamaha F225 2002 approx. 550 hrs on it, the bottom right spark plug (looking at the back of the motor) looks like it's oil fouled, after about 50 hrs. the compression is the same as the other cylinders. the motor will turn the same RPM as it did when new (5100 RPM).
I had a mechanic look at the plug and he said it could be caused by a bad spark plug wire or a bad injector.
the plan is to operate the motor on a high ratio of injector cleaner to gas, from a small tank (3 gal tank) for some period time.
The questions is what ratio of injector cleaner to gas do I use and how long should I run the motor.
This will be done with muffs and hose (not in the water).
The other portion of the plan is to switch the ignition coil with the one above it and change the injector to some other location.
The logic is if the coil or the wire is bad or the injector is bad, the problem should move to a new location.
? Is this a bad plan?
Also, in an attempt to clean out the speedometer reading hole in the lower unit, I broke a drill bit off deep inside the small hole. I attempted to pound it all the way through and now it's hopelessly jammed too far in to use a small easy out and it can't be driven through. Any throught on how to remove the broken drill bit.
Any thoughts to solve these problems would be greatly appreciated.
