I ran my boat Thursday and did not notice the pee hole not peeing, I had it in my driveway on ear muffs. The alarm sounded i shut it off and proceeded to check the simple stuff. Ten minutes at the most total run time. Checking for mud dobbers, even disconnected the rubber hose from the pee hole and made sure it was clear. Then i hook the water hose up to the flush system Yamaha has to flush motors, not running, but to see if the head passages were clear. The water came out strong so I directed my attention to the water pump. The last time i installed a new one was 3 years ago. So this morning I pulled off the lower unit and could not get my water pump housing off. I ended up having to cut the old housing and part of the impeller off to remove it. It looked like it had melted some in spots. I took the old housing in as I order the new pump and new housing, they said it looked like i ran through some chemical or something?? I think i burnt it up myself, but that's another story. So i put it all back together and ran it on ear muffs. The water pump pumped, but doesn't seem as strong and it also seems to pulse sate. The water stream isn't cutting out totally just goes from strong to lesser back to strong, all in about 3 seconds. I think tomorrow i will run it in a tank and see what she does. Does anything stand out or jump out to you guys?

All new parts from the gasket up to a new housing.
Many Thanks

The metal cup that houses the impeller has 2 male tits, the plastic housing that covers and holds the metal cup has three female receivers, positioning the metal cup in two locations. I put the metal cup in the position where the entire cut out section is in position for the cut out (tapered) plastic housing. If that makes sense? Is that correct?
