"alarm 3 beeps every 2 minutes

"alarm 3 beeps every 2 minutes, believe to be related to an oil issue, have checked system from boat to motor. Oil is pumping from boat tank to tank on side of motor. Replace sensor in tank on motor, alarm still going off. The question is how do you know if oil is pumping from tank on side of motor to the cylinders and where is the oil pump located on the optimax? Have there been problems with the sensor inside the tank on the motor, because I also took and clean that tank prior to purging the system? Does an alarm sound if the tank in the boat goes down to a certain level?"
 
"The sensor is not the issue.

"The sensor is not the issue. The motor tank itself goes bad. This is very common. (magnetic float) If the oil was not pumping the motor would already be dead. There is no sensor for that. If the piece inside the tank is rolling around in there I would find it before it causes a clog.

The boat tank has no alarm switch, only the levo-gauge sender."

"Bandit, thanks the the info, I took the motor tank off and clean it out and found no pieces inside. The magnetic float was still attached to the part that is slides up and down. I take it that you are saying that the magnetic float is bad and the sensor reads off that magnetic float inside the tank?"

"have a 90 model 150 xr4 seem to be locked up won,t turn over by hand or starter seem to lock up after a 1/2 turn by hand stoped running while running at about 4500 rpm on the lake"
