This week, I was out on the lake fishing and my 2002, 200 Optimax randomly cut out on my when I put it into gear. All night the engine was running great, despite it being a little choppy out. At 8:15pm, I started the boat fine, but then put it into gear and the engine cut on me.
From there, turned the key off, gave it a couple of seconds and went to start it again thinking it just stalled. When I turned the key to start the battery, I did not receive the single beep, and consequently the engine wouldn't fire. After messing around until 9pm trouble shooting, I left the key on for the battery and randomly received the "long beep" code. I have received the 4-beep code in the past when I had a faulty oil line, but never the single beep code. I never got either code while driving around.
Any ideas as to what's going on? What does the "long beep" code mean vs. the "4-beep code"? Right now it's restricting me from doing anything. I've received the 4 beep codes in the past, so I'm confused as to why randomly the engine cut, without any error codes. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
