I have a 2002 MERCURY 40 hp / 2 stroke on my pontoon.
The current 40 hp is a long shaft. (20")
It's mounted as low as it can go. It blows out at w.o.t on calm
water. I'd like to switch to a 2002 MERCURY 60 hp /BIGFOOT / 2 stroke!
The Lake we fish is 7 miles long and has frequent waves of 2ft.
For a better bite from the prop inbetween waves should I get a
LONG SHAFT or a EXTRA LONG SHAFT?
(If my long shaft 40 hp. Blows out, can I assume a BIGFOOT long shaft
would do the same? I'd hate to buy one, mount it, then find out!)
And if I keep the same year motors, are the Steering Cable, Throttle Cable and Electrical hook up the same? (Plug and Go)?
