2002 Merc 125 Saltwater

Oil ran low in oil tank, alarm went off, filled up with oil, alarm never stopped.
Ordered a new tank and sensor and installed yesterday. Now I don't get the beep when i turn the ignition on.
Any ideas?

just guessing but would say loose or corroded wires or plug, especially check pins and grounds.
