"I have a 90 that would stall when putting it in gear. New plugs properly gaped would allways fix this problem, this time new plugs didnt fix it. I removed an cleaned the carbs 2 times. Still didn"t fix it, i took it back to the dealer where i bought it. They have been through the carbs 3 times now, still is not right. when you put it in the water you can baby it or use the choke to get it in gear without dieing, run it on plane for a couple mins. you can stop an it goes in an out of gear perfect, no problem what so ever(can"t make it cut off)Cut the engine off, start it back up in an out of gear no problems at all. let it sit for 20 mins. problem comes right back cant get it in gear without stalling to save your life (unless you use the choke) thats the only way i can get it in gear without stalling for the rest of the day."

since using the choke..try backing out the idle mixture screws 1/4 turn on all carbs.

"also,... u have the o ring type gasket between the carb and intake,if one(or more) of those is not sealing properly,could cause your lean condition...."

"Oh i forgot to mention when on the muffs (water hose)sounds like the #1 cylinder is not firing at idle. when you crank it up sounds like all 4 cylinders hit, an about 3-5 seconds later you can hear it drop the #1 cylinder.

After i run the engine on plane an stop it, idles at 950 in netural, in an out of gear no problems. Wait 20 mins start it back up an it only idles at 750 (thus dies when putting in gear)run 3/4 throttal for a half mile slow down take it out of gear idles at 950 again."

"factory setting was about 3 3/4 turns. i opened then up a 1/4 no differance, open another 1/4, allmost sounded better so opened them another 1/4, defently getting better but required still another 1/4 turn an now it takes the fuel no problems. So i"m at 4 3/4 turns now, allthough it runs fine makes me wonder why,"
