We've had issues with this motor not running correctly for several years. After relying on a local place to do the work I finally had enough and decided to clean the carbs myself. I think they have just been running a heavy seafoam mix through until it ran better. Upon taking the carbs off I found them coated in a red gel/varnish type substance along with lots of crap in the fuel bowls. I'm assuming that alcohol has played a role here but I can't figure out where/why the red is coming from. I checked the fuel tank, no red there. Checked fuel lines to the motor, no red. Fuel pump and filter both coated with red. Any ideas???
