2002 Suzuki DF140 Four Stroke 170 hours

The code from the engine was 2-4, or the CMP - camshaft position sensor.

The motor had stopped and would not start.

It happened a month ago and I took it to the dealer mechanics. They told me it was due to the battery connections... When it happened last night I took the battery connections off the battery for a few minutes - then put them back on very tightly - this had no effect.

Does anyone know how to reset the engine after this happens?

Any help is appreciated.

What really bothers me is that the motor won't start back up after this happens. If I was able to reset it, and continue if necessary, that would help.

I took it to the dealer mechanic on Saturday. I talked to them today and they told me it was due to a loose negative battery connection.

They said after they tightened the battery down it started right up...

Kind of frustrating. Said these engines are sensitive to voltage irregularities.

I find it hard to believe the motor would die, then crank and crank w/o starting. Then after tightening the battery connection, just start up and run fine.

Has anyone else have a similar experience?
