2002 90 HP 2 stroke - Constant Beeping Warning Sound

I found other posts on this but couldn't find any super clear answers. My 2002 90hp Two Stroke Oil Injected outboard started a constant Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep as soon as I turn the key. I have read that this is the overheat alarm but the beeeeeeeeep starts as soon as the key is turned and the engine is cold. The Beep started as soon as I took off after fishing. I was running from a lightning storm so I didn't stop and kept going full throttle all the way home (about 10 minutes) and she ran perfect the whole way while beeping. My impeller seems to be working fine and water discharge has a steady stream to make me think that it isn't actually overheating. The shop that I want to take it to has a 3 week wait time so I want to diagnose the problem myself in the meantime. Any suggestions on how to check the overheat sensor?

Thanks for any and all help!

Most probably a toasted temp sensor (typical and known issue).

Unhook the sensor and see if the beep stops.
