2002 8.1 L GSI won’t start

Was running fine when we put it away for the winter and a garage. It started up for a very short time and then quit. We put in a new crank case position sensor and a new fuel filter which we primed, but that did not help we also check the Starting lanyard by the steering wheel to make sure that wasn’t a problem. It’s OK.

Any ideas?

P.S. we tried starting fluid and it did not start it. No
Ignition at all.

Check the fuses on the engine by physically pulling them out and inspecting them.. that mentioned, it may be a ignition relay sticking internally.. try tapping on the relays lightly while the key is on…

Do the gauges power up?

Also should have some fuses at or under/behind the dash area or even possibly a single circuit breaker button to push by the ignition key.

Pretty sure that uses the MEFI-4 ECU....search the www and find the MEFI-4 manual - it has all the basic diagnostic procedures in it...
