I have a 2002 30 HP Johnson Ou

I have a 2002 30 HP Johnson Outboard. The sandwich sections that are bolted to the engine have come loose and have smashed the magnets in the fly wheel. Has anyone had the same problem or shead some light on the road to properly fixing motor.

"Is the "sandwiched sections" you are referring to the assembly with the coils mounted to the block under the flywheel? That would be the stator. I don't know about that coming loose, but it is not uncommon for the magnets to come loose on a newer OMC flywheel. The dealer sells a kit to reinstall the magnets. If the stator is damaged that is another issue."
