I have a pair of mercury optimax 225 dfi on my 31 ft Boston whaler , they suck oil down like crazy , I am paying $115 for 3 gallons of mercury synthetic dfi oil and I seem to be adding the 3 gallons almost every week as I use my boat a lot but it’s becoming to expensive for me . Is there any other oil that will work Saftey in my motors . I read in Pennzoils website that the Pennzoil Marine® XLF is safe for all dfi motors every year . Does anyone know if this is a good alternative for the mercury dfi oil ? If not is there an good alternative or am I stuck using the mercury dfi for ever ? .
