I just purchased a boat with t

I just purchased a boat with this motor. I took it to a Marine shop and had them do a leak down on it. I am a first time buyer and owner of a boat so I am trying to gain other input than just the Marine shop. The leak down #'s were all in the mid 80's and consistent. Is this good or bad? The motor has 72 hours on it.

The guy I bought it from says he always had it garaged and only used it about 5 times a year since 2003. From the looks of it, I believe him. I took the cover off the motor and there are no signs of leaks and everything looks clean. I had a local Marine shop look it over and everything works as it should.

The only thing I am worried about is that he has not done any maintenance to it. He did not have it winterized since it was always in an insulated garage attach to his house that never gets below 40 degrees."

"Seems you got a good motor. I may not be has fortunate. I have another post on this forum. See "new boat". Thanks for your input. I will check for the meter at the repair shop. They are going to do some test for around $75. I will need to make an offer but the asking price for the boat, motor, and trailer is less than the value of the motor assuming it is OK. It has set out for two years but looks new on the outside. I will post the condition on the inside. Tks again. BG"
