2001 V-MAX 225hp Prop Thrust washer stuck

Hi Guys,
While doing my winterization, my inner brass prop thrust washer is stuck on the shaft. I tried gently prying, and tapping with a brass punch. I am looking for advice to get it off, and also saw some other posts about a possible upgrade on this part. Any help would be appreciated.

Smack it with a hammer directly. Hit it with some force, it will pop off.

Then you would be replacing the shaft seal. A hammer works fine.

I hit it a little harder with the hammer, and small brass bar. It did finally break free. Thanks Chris.
If anyone knows of a upgrade(recall?) on the brass thrust washer, please let me know.

Just grease it good and don't over tighten the prop when you put it back on.
