I recently had an issue with the temp alarm during some hot summer days so I replaced the impeller and flushed the system. I took the boat out this weekend and everything was fine until I gave it full throttle for about 5 minutes, when the alarm went off and the the engine coughed and spluttered. I reduced the rpm's instantly to about 1500 where the alarm stopped and the engine ran like normal. I let it sit at idle for about ten minutes and then proceeded back at about 3000rpm with the engine working as it should.
Any ideas as to why the alarm went off?
Thanks is advance.

... so I replaced the impeller and flushed the system.
Was the old impeller intact or broken into pieces...did you find all of the pieces? If not then a chunk is in the water passage restricting flow.

Just a quick one Hows your thermostat >

What s your tell tale doing.

Have you one of those new fangled temp testers , what temp does it run at.

Try another sensor , if water temp ok.
