"Hoping to get a little help here on a boat/motor that I purchased last month. This motor hadn't been started in over 2 years and when I received it. I promply switched all the fluids, filters, plugs and started it up to flush the engine out. Took a few cranks however did start just fine and appear the idle was a low because it unless it was idling higher then normal the engine would shutdown.

Took it out on the lake this past weekend and had a heck of a time getting it started and same idling problem, figured it just needed to be run hard to clean out the carb and get some build up out, etc however didn't do the trick. Whenever you gun it or come to a stop quickly it shuts down the motor, almost like the engine is flooding out or not getting enough gas. I do have the engine manual however a little help on where to start looking would be greatly appreciated.

Please keep in mind I'm not a pro at this so please pardon my lack of description.

Thanks for any assistance,

Mark"

They need to be pulled, disassembled and thoroughly cleaned. Add some new gaskets and will be all good to go.

AFTER that is done, running stablizer ALL the time will go a long way to preventing a recurrance, unfortunately, once gummed it's too late for additives to help..."
