2001 Johnson 40hp shiftrod and gearcase ?

Hey guys, I've got a couple of questions. My motor is J40PLSIG, I'm looking for the shiftrod height, what I've found is 21 15/16, is that correct? And how tight do I go with the nut that holds the gear onto the drive shaft? Thanks alot!

I suggest you buy an OMC factory service manual. You'll use it for a lot of things on that motor.

I purchased a service manual, wasn't omc. I did finally get some specs if anyone else happens to want them. The shiftrod height is 21 15/16 and the pinion nut torque is 40-45 ft-lbs.
