Hi all,
Been trying to figure out some issues I am having with the throttle on my outboard.
Motor idles fine, as soon as I touch the throttle, it revs to 5-6 k RPM. I disconnected all throttle cables so I was just playing with direct throttle on the motor and it's all the same. I tested the throttle position sensor and it reads 1.5 ohms at idle, steady increase all the way to 7.0 ohms at open throttle. I don't know if these readings are correct for this model, just that there was no abnormal jumps in resistance while opening slowly to full throttle.
Current TPS is a CTS branded serial # 06541 stamped. Evinrude part number looks like 5001792. I have been trying to find a replacement, since its an easy swap, but I cant find one anywhere, and I cant seem to find a cross reference to an aftermarket.
I have been restoring this boat, so has not been on the water, it just does not seem normal to me for it to run so hard and be so touchy.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
