2001 Evinrude 175 is it worth getting???

I need a motor for my boat and have found a pair of 175 Evinrude. one motor needs a power head but guy says the other motor is fine. since I only need one I would have some spare parts. would like some input on if these motors are pretty good or stay away ? and how are they on fuel?? any input would be great

Exactly. If it's carb'd it's a reasonable option, but if it's FICHT that's a nightmare waiting to happen.

All Evinrudes after 1999 were DFI (Ficht or otherwise) or four stroke. No carb models. Those were Johnson. I would stay away from the early model Ficht 60* motors.

Good catch, I forgot about the Evinrude DFI, Johnson Carb setup that OMC was using. The OP should definitely steer clear of this one.
