Hey all, I have a 2001 Evinrude 15HP four stroke E15RVL4SIC (BRP not a Suzuki) that I use as a kicker for trolling on my 22.5' walkaround.. It is tied into my main tank via a 3 way ball valve ahead of the main fuel filter but with its own inline filter to seperate it from the big motor. The motor will run and troll perfectly first thing in the morning up until high noon or a little after.. Once the ambient temperature outside starts to get hot 70-75+ the motor will start to sputter and (wet) fowl plugs.. If I take the hood/cowl off the motor it will clean itself out and start to run normally again.. Put the hood/cowl back on and it will sputter and foul again.. Once the ambient temperature climbs above 80 degrees taking the hood off no longer solves the problem.. The only way I can then solve to problem is to use the cover for my Humminbird 1158 as a fan and fan air across the motor.. That will stop the sputtering until I stop fanning air and then it will start sputtering again.. Sometimes, even all it takes is a little breeze to blow up with the hood off and the sputtering quits
Parts I have changed to try and resolve the issue to no avail include:
Waterpump impeller and all associated parts
Thermostat and housing seals
1 heat range hotter plugs
Thanks
Adam
