2000 V6. Fuel in oil

When draining the oil I smelt fuel. This also would explain why it was making oil. Approx 40 mm above the dipstick mark. Not had this problem on a petrol engine before. If you have experienced or know about this fault I would be great full if you could reply. Bob

If you have the mechanical fuel pump the diaphragm is ruptured , if you have an electric pump you could have a sticky/sticking injectors

Thank you for your reply. This is a 4.3 efi 2000 model. Electric fuel pump with cooler. 800 hrs. Ser no. OM017749.
When pressured up no dripping from the injector can be seen.
