Gasket is leaking between bellhousing and lower unit while engine running with garden hose attached ,I was planning on purchasing this boat but don't know the severity of this, please help!!

Do you mean at the point where the drive is bolted to the bellhousing? Would it be leaking at that point on the port side? If so, there is an O-ring seal inside that seals the water intake passage between the two mating surfaces.

I think he is looking at the water that is coming from the exhaust speed bellows that is probably installed on this bell housing.

We need a little more information.

Yes, the point where there are 6 nuts holding it to the bellhousing, you can see a little of the gasket protruding out of the mating surface. It is on the starbord side of the motor. The owner had the new gasket kit with 0-rings included and said his mechanic would install them prior to sale.I just wanted a mechanics opinion,Thanks

The o-ring is the main water seal. The gasket is there to keep stuff out and to direct the exhaust down to the prop hub. I would be there when it is taken apart. You may want to inspect the bell housing for rot and corrosion where the o-ring seats and for a blockage in the exhaust passage. Maybe one of the flappers as come loose.

As I mentioned earlier, it could be a missing or damaged raw water intake seal. Though it is located on the port side, a leak can make it's way to starboard internally. As Dockside said, it could be exhaust water as well. I also agree with being there when they remove the drive, and have the mechanic explain to you exactly what is going on.
