2000 Mercruiser 5.0 oil filter cross reference

I'm getting the 2000 Crownline with 5.0/Alpha One ready for summer and am going to do an oil change. I've looked for a cross reference for the merc oil filter #35-866340K01 and keep finding conflicting info. I found some references to an AC Delco PF52 and then several other conflicting numbers. Can anyone tell me a correct part# for a non-Merc filter?

Thanks

I've done a little more digging and used the Napa web site to find a filter part number for a 2000 Mercruiser 220HP 5.0L They listed two different filters, FIL7099 and FIL1086.

The FIL 7099 crosses to a AC Delco PF454 or PF454F. The FIL 1086 crosses to AC Delco PF1794

What gives? Any thoughts on which (or both) is a correct part number? If you look at automotive uses of the PF454 it lists MANY years of GM 5.0 and 5.7 engines.

What gives?

Ayuh,..... Different lengths/ capacities,.....

The small bock Chevy has used the same oil filter for 40 years,.....

Merc uses the same filters as every SBC built since the '60s,.....

I use the Napa #1086 Alota,.... it's a smallish filter,....

I'd rather run a bigger filter, but many applications ain't got the space to hang 'em,...
