2000 Johnson ficht 225HP

My outboard motor accelerates too aggressively with minimal throttle input on my 2000 evinrude 225hp ficht, i need help! any suggestion?

It could be a throttle position sensor. With the engine off, use a multi-meter in the OHM mode and back probe the ground and signal wire on the sensor. Now, operate the throttle linkage from idle to full throttle in a smooth steady manor. You should see a nice, steady change in resistance as the linkage moves back and forth. If you see big jumps in the OHM value then it means your TPS is sending bad data to the ECM.

If that simple test doesn't show any strange behavior then your next step is to plug it into a computer with EV Diag and see if there are any error codes.
