"i have a 2000 johnson 35hp, 3cyl.. the last time out with it, it ran good for half a day, when returning to the launch it ran out of power and died. would start right up, back up to speed then die again. it acted like it was running out of fuel. fuel lines were clear and fuel filter was not plugged. the vent was open on the fuel tank. put kits in the two fuel pumps. test ran with the same results. can keep engine running if i let off the throttle at the same time i feel the engine dying.
the only other thing that happened leading up to this is i had left the ignition key in the "on" position long enough to drain the battery dead. switched batteries before going fishing that day, started and ran good the first half of the day.
could leaving the key on that long have damaged any electrical components?.....thanks in advance for any help."
