First post here so bear with me. My 2000 Voyager Pontoon Boat has A Johnson 150 V6 Model J150PLSSC The boat sat for the last 12 yrs in my boat shed.
It was running fine when I parked it. This summer I decided to resurrect it. New trailer wheels, Fuel tank removed and cleaned out, all 6 carbs removed cleaned and reinstalled, new plugs installed. After some attempts it started and ran in my drive way with water hose attached. I could only start it after spraying carb cleaner into the intake, I discovered the primer solenoid wont click when the key is pushed in. Turned the red handle up and it starts but was leaking due to a crack in the red handle. I took the boat to the lake for a break in. It ran ok but idled a bit rough. Ordered rebuild kit from Marine.com removed the solenoid and rebuilt it and reinstalled it. Have yet to restart it since rebuilding the solenoid. MY expertise with a ohmmeter aint much but I think it tested OK, Still no click when I push in on the key. Wires to the solenoid are purple and black . How Do I check for other problems? any suggestions will be appreciated. I upload videos to Youtube so if you do a search for Pwalpar you will see my videos of the boat resurrection. Walter
