2000 9.9 four stroke help

I have a 2000 9.9 johnson. Runs great all over the lake. When i shut down to fish it will not start until i let it cool down for awhile. Replaced coil pack does the same thing. Can some one please help. Fishing season is upon us. Thanks

Have you inspected under the flywheel,"the stator" for melting goo?

I just put that on my to do list. Keeps getting bigger. Lol

Injust checked the fly wheel like you stated there is no goo its clean as a whistle any other ideas

Yes Check water temp. coming from telltale"pisser", You should be able to keep your hand in it indefinitely. Place your hand on the cylinder head,should be able to hold for a 6 second count without a scolded finger.
