Last Fall, boat ran great. I bought the boat in 09' and never touched the ignition parts so I decided to update everything: new parts include: coil, module, pick-up coil, cap, rotor, plugs, wires. Took it out this spring and it ran great, except that it will only get 3700 rpm (last fall it was 4400). Just doesn't have the power it should. I read all 56 pages of these forums and tried several things to diagnose the problem including:
changed fuel filter
tested fuel pressure at the rail (40 psi even under load)
timing is dead on in service mode
put old module back in
checked all plug wires (found a bad one, which helped but still no top end).
checked fuel for water- none
We checked the timing under load and it doesn't seem to be advancing far enough. It only moves about an inch from the pointer at wot. Any more ideas would be appreciated.
