I have a J40JPLSSR (60/40 HP Jet) and trying to figure out why the remote control tilt/trim doesn't work but the switch on the side of the lower cowling works great. I know my tilt/trim switch on the remote control is bad so I need to replace that but before doing so I wanted to make sure everything else downstream was ok.
To test it I unhooked the triangle tilt/trim connector in the back near the head and tried jumping the white/red to blue/white and then white/red to green/white and it does nothing. I did the same test after unhooking the switch on the side of the lower cowling and it worked which was anticipated.
I looked it over and I am not sure what is wrong. This was a tiller motor which I believe was added after it was a controls motor so I believe it was originally a remote control motor.
Any other test I can do to figure out what's going?
