It was running great then started to miss and surge. Made back to the trailer. Had no fire on bottom cylinder. Wilky white sludge coming from the exhaust. Compression on top cylinder 120 bottom 118. Bottom plug was clean. Pulled the head and the head gasket was blown. Replaced it and same problem no fire on bottom cylinder. Have spark and fuel. Still getting white sludge from the exhaust. Tried injecting carb cleaner into bottom carb to see if it would fire still wont pick that cylinder up. Reeds look fine. Still surging and have to pump the primer bulb to keep it running. It doesnt look like it ever got hot. Checked and replaced the impeller. The old one was fine. Anyone have any ideas?

Is it running with a pump off the top cylinder , yes or no ?----Does spark jump a gap of 3/8" on both leads, yes or no ?

Yes it will run with just the top cylinder. As long as I continue to squeeze the primer bulb it will stay running. Yes the spark will jump. I

Could it be the base gasket, where the power head meets the exhaust chest. If I'm remembering correctly the fuel pump is driven from the pulse thingy can

( cant remember the name) which is driven from the exhaust?

I thought the blue and gold pulse thing at the bottom of the motor drives the fuel pump which is driven off of the exhaust pressure.

You are wrong !!----That " pulse thing " is a flow fuse to protect the VRO pump.-----Crankcase pressure pulses drive the fuel pump !!

Ok thanks for the info. So I pulled the line from the flow fuse that connects to the fuel pump and it has fuel in it?I'm guessing the line should not have fuel in it? Thank you for the replies

You are getting closer.------That line from the pulse limiter gets crankcase compression .----That air has fuel / oil mix in it.----You may find some fuel there.----It should not be a lot of fuel.-------So remove the line from the pulse limiter and operate the manual fuel pump.-----No fuel should come from the hose / pump.------Or you have a bad float / float valve in the bottom carburetor.----Report what you see when you operate the manual pump with hose off the pulse limiter.
