Need HELP! motor will run fine for a few minutes,then shuts off.Will NOT crank for several minutes.Checked plug fire and NO FIRE!Few minutes later fires right up then shuts down,no fire! J35TEL3SSB
 
Have you checked the cooling system ? Replaced the water pump impeller ?-------------------Is this motor still running with oil injection ?---------The oil injection on that motor should be taken off and tossed as far as you can.------------No spark ? Then check all grounds are clean and tight on ignition wiring.
 
Water pumping nice and strong, oil injection taken off few years ago,I removed powerpak there were a couple ground wires there,made sure everything was nice and tight and all connections clean.checked kill switch by disconnecting wires at block reinstalling.Still after few minutes the motor dies,check spark nothing.All three cyl read 140 on compression gauge.
 
It has optical ignition.---------Remove flywheel and carefully clean those components ( optical senser ) found under there.
 
The powerpack on those is expensive so best to look at everything before investing in one.----Perhaps a dealer has a loaner powerpack for test purposes.
