Have totally rebuilt the 3 carbs in my 200 HP Mercury. On the bottom carb the jet on the port side was .028, the spec calls for .032. It looked like the jet was from the factory. Did the factory send out an update since 2000? I plan to go back to specs and install a .032 jet-any problems? Serial OT152770

Did you have two .028's in there?

Info out of the newest service manual for your S/N. 90-878079R01 AUGUST 2002 Page 3B-7

PORT
JET–idle air vent

(.038-Top) (200 HP)

1 JET–idle air vent
(.028-Center) (200)

1 JET–idle air vent
(.028-Bottom) (200)

STARBOARD

1 JET–idle air vent (.038-Top) (200)

2 JET–idle air vent
(.028-Center/Bottom) (200)

You may as well leave it in there if everything looks and runs good.

Also found this info for you as well on Page 1A-5
– Model 200 (WMV 18)– Main Jet Cyl 2,3 – .082, Cyl. 1,4 – .080, Cyl. 5 – .084, Cyl. 6 – .078.
– Idle Air Jet Cyl. 2 – .038, Cyl. 1 – .042.
– Vent Jet

Cyl. 3,4,5,6 – .028

.086 (all cylinders)

Thanks for the info. Yes, there are two .028's in there.
My .032 info came from the charts in boats.net and mercurypart***press.com for my serial number.
In the schematic both show #6 ((Bottom)(200)(Port) Idle Air Vent as being a .032.

All of other info is exactly the same as you provided.

Also, the motor runs great with the .028 but I just wanted to make sure it was at specs
Thanks again for your input.

Serial Number is correct. Go to boats.net or mercurypart***press.com and scroll down to the V135-Same motor/different specs-and you will find the SN. Check out carb schematic #6 for their spec of .032 for the port idle air vent.
Thanks for replying

Thanks; found it. Why in the hell would merc. list the 200 carbed and not include all of them...S..tForBrains manual writer.
