2000 200 hp optimax trouble

I have a 2000 optimax 200hp cutting out at 4300 rpms. Any well known causes

Nope, nothing "chronic".

Is it "cutting out", as in losing spark or bogging down on you?

bogging down bad and sputtering until I go below 4300rpm

High on the suspect list would be the fuel filter at the VST or one of the two fuel pumps.

The filter is an "at home" change, the fuel pumps would have to be tested for flow (which can also be done at home with a manual and a minimal tool kit)..
