"hello, I put a new impeller in this motor and the customer took it out last week. The motor runs good and pisses water in forward ok, but not reverse. have never had this happen. it did get hot, but no alarm went off. pulled the gearcase, didn't miss the tube and the impeller looks great as it should. any ideas?? I put it back together and plan to try it out tomorrow."

"Shouldn't make a difference whether in forward or reverse, the drive shaft doesn't change direction - don't stop turning at all while the motor is running.

"yes I know, now sure either, been doing this for over 12 years and these jobs realy make me wonder why! lol. anyways, didn't get a chance to put in yet today, will be doing it tomorrow for sure. will get back to u. I have another 1 for u. 1997 25hp OMC, 3 cylinder. had got H2O in fuel system. rebuilt carbs, wont adjust by the book, turn jets out 6-6.5 turns to get idleing. timing good. no high speed, dies out around 1500-2000 rpm's. just wondering if u have and idea, I know what is wrong, but took 2 other shops before I figured it out and that was just by mistake, had an idea, but didn't know what crated it. anyways. thanks and later."
